Time - it's time when its time!

The loss of power on the last standing bulb, marked the fall of a big banyan tree finally after four hundred years of toil on the only transformer in the area. The spies of Kala(the God Of Death)  were hunting to collect the souls before the dawn to please their always upset master. They were successful in gathering all those lost souls, the escaped souls and dead souls, but there he lied on his bed denying those who came asking for the only part left in his body - The Soul.... The arrival of sun brought joy to his otherwise devastated mind, the dearth of the people who liked him and the scarcity of nourishment never curbed his desire to live. As the sages and ages say, he lived to see another day which marked a unmarked achievement in his diary which has not seen pen for a year or so, when he last could move him currently numb fingers. He lived his life to write the thoughts and glory of the contemporary maniacs who ruled the era. The life well lived in motion chasing drea...

Finally 2020, Nation's Appraisal meeting - Part I

From time eternal India had been a trading post and resource rich country. There had been always wealth getting exchanged and the fortunes changed on our green shores. In current world when India finally reaches Abdul Kalam's 2020, where do we stand other than all the political gimmicks that we see now? Are we really heading to the intolerance that once Amir Khan tried to warn us with? Are we concentrating on the right issues and engagements? Or as someone said, we are a beauty in the middle of all the chaos?  As the trade stories narrates us in various forums, we had been a fast paced society from the BC to AD. There had been in-numerous changes to the landscape of life while the tectonic plates are busy crashing and pushing the eurosian plates, we have went ahead with our lives unaware of the geography beneath where we stand. While this point seems irrelevant at the point to all the readers, we need to be wary of the unawareness to the world around us while we worr...

Die Hard fan of live harder

Ethos of life in this planet has displayed a distinct similarity. Whereas various culture of this planet defines success in-distinctively at the same time. Across the various aspects of success which is in turn linked to the ethos of our distinct society, there lies an evident resemblance. Current world success is closely linked to the rise in the social strata along with the adherence to the staunch belief in the economic system the world engages us in. A nihilist has no space in the world which is stitched by the thread of religion with the cloth of economy already dyed with the color of ethos.  A social order is to be followed by the masses for the benefit of a larger cause named peace. Can there be peace without social order? Why can't there be peace? Who decides what makes you a complete man in this tiny drop of a planet within this cosmos? Is it really Raymonds? Every society has decided what man should do and strive for within their boundaries which has given...

Is the soul materialistic?

While going through quite a few texts of soul searching and religious doctrines, something that warrants a mention is the materialistic side of the world within us, around us and without us. Hinduism by some means has taught us the idea of wealth goddess being treated as the one who serves the guy who creates maya . A wife is to be treated as the Lakshmi(Goddess of wealth). In the metaphysical affianced directions, it is explained that the wife is expected to teach the man(so called husband), the importance of wealth to setup a family and future. In some other contexts, it is revealed that man had learned to overcome death by reproduction. The genetics suggests that future generations has we in them already. The Christian world has taught the discipline of being devoted to work and where it takes man in the rebuild of the Europe and other countries as we see it from where it was five centuries ago.  Can we equate wealth to materialism? Is it that simple? If ...

Adjustment on the RAILS!

With a heavy heart, we dragged ourselves to see the Golden city of Jaisalmer from Jaipur. Jaipur impressed us and me in particular with brilliant planning and discipline. The taxi drivers often complained to us about the engine abuse by the youth on the two tires between their legs which had grown horrendous in recent times. It was a long overnight Indian Railways organized journey that awaited us. Carrying three young kids of six, four, and three, the seven of us really was ready to call it a day as soon as we boarded the train. Some of us had been waiting to just get into the train to launch on to the cozy berths after a hot sunny day in Jaipur. The railway station was quite near to where we lived in those Civil Lines. The only botheration we had was on how to be together when our seats were as spread as 3, 4, 14, 15, 16, 24, 63, 64. All of us were equally shy to start a conversation pleading for a shift of seats with any fellow passengers too. The art of seat swapping has to b...

Jampacked as it might sound!

A good time to welcome namma metro and start dreaming of a jam free city drives. Mostly it remains a dream in our country whatever we invent. There had been in-numerous mentions of car pooling, go green with cycling and what not in last few years. How do we really figure out what is best for us and the environment? How good is the commute and is that really the best we could do for ourselves? It is really not surprising that we end up cursing and bad mouthing all modes of travel in few years whatever we are to invent or discover. This is partly or vastly because of the traffic we end up facing be in inside a train or on road. I don't mean the vehicles but the people. Whole of the Bangalore metro seems to be jam packed during the office hours and weekends, often making me wonder aren't we capable to add more cars to the train or is it just that we are fond of the sweat smelling commute in a jam packed train? Now if we are to add, how many more cars can we add? Can it be ever e...
