Adjustment on the RAILS!

With a heavy heart, we dragged ourselves to see the Golden city of Jaisalmer from Jaipur. Jaipur impressed us and me in particular with brilliant planning and discipline. The taxi drivers often complained to us about the engine abuse by the youth on the two tires between their legs which had grown horrendous in recent times. It was a long overnight Indian Railways organized journey that awaited us. Carrying three young kids of six, four, and three, the seven of us really was ready to call it a day as soon as we boarded the train. Some of us had been waiting to just get into the train to launch on to the cozy berths after a hot sunny day in Jaipur. The railway station was quite near to where we lived in those Civil Lines. The only botheration we had was on how to be together when our seats were as spread as 3, 4, 14, 15, 16, 24, 63, 64. All of us were equally shy to start a conversation pleading for a shift of seats with any fellow passengers too. The art of seat swapping has to b...

Jampacked as it might sound!

A good time to welcome namma metro and start dreaming of a jam free city drives. Mostly it remains a dream in our country whatever we invent. There had been in-numerous mentions of car pooling, go green with cycling and what not in last few years. How do we really figure out what is best for us and the environment? How good is the commute and is that really the best we could do for ourselves? It is really not surprising that we end up cursing and bad mouthing all modes of travel in few years whatever we are to invent or discover. This is partly or vastly because of the traffic we end up facing be in inside a train or on road. I don't mean the vehicles but the people. Whole of the Bangalore metro seems to be jam packed during the office hours and weekends, often making me wonder aren't we capable to add more cars to the train or is it just that we are fond of the sweat smelling commute in a jam packed train? Now if we are to add, how many more cars can we add? Can it be ever e...
Whole India caught fire few weeks back when an unfortunate poor little soul was demolished by some ruthless citizens of India. Whole nation fought for her and wanted to see government taking action, people making changes and to witness something significant. I respect all those who fight for her and all those who truly tried to make a change. With all due respect to the judiciary system of my country, do you really think all these changes or amendments are going to help us in making great strides? Have really tried to look at the root of the issue? Maybe yes, our Facebook friends did a great lot on that front. Thought of sharing my take on the issue called RAPE. This is not an issue that we can just like that bring to rest with few amendments and strict rules. It needs careful investigation before we act. Do we think the issue starts with few guys who roam around jobless?

Kerala - a land of mysteries

Kerala a state in India with Arabian sea on onside, western ghats on the other side, filled with backwaters in the center, where every water channel reaches the sea from east to west is really a unique place. It is often called Gods own country. In present world, it presents us with the most peaceful territory where you find many religions - hindu, christian, islam, sikh, jain, jew, parsi, buddhist and others living in Harmony in India with complete cultural freedom. It once boasted of being the sea trade hub of this subcontinent. It won't be an exaggeration to say that all people from this very land pride themselves from being associated with Kerala. Few centuries back, the colonials fought among themselves to get a hold of its wealth and share. One of the territories where the British didn't completely establish themselves as Arabs, Chinese, Portugese, Dutch, French and many more imperialists had already marked Kerala, in their Asian maps. This is also the place where Colum...

Namma Bengaluru

Now that a decade has passed in the garden city, it warrants a space in my blog as I treasure the moments which defined a part of me and my character. When I got the job offer during second year of my college, it was obvious that I would be part of the Chennai office as my seniors and other known beings. This led me to learn Tamil alphabets and prepare for a live in the hot sun which would have been a unembellished thing considering my high humid upbringing. Destiny had a different design for my life which arrived in the form of an offer letter to join the Bangalore office. I had to unlearn all those Tamil letters and words which I had guzzled during my preparations. Bangalore had already earned a notoriety among the people around me those days when people considered it too modern and fast to accept. A city which was destined to affect their children as far as noble parents where considered in those days.Such a thought of the generation induced some fear in my mind but as always ...

Who are we?

A subject which we have heard from time eternal, which troubled great intellects, a topic which quizzed the more inquisitive minds. Some say they got the answers through spirituality, some through self-realization, and certain others through some other ways. Often termed as one of the most brilliant of all questions that people strive hard to make themselves question, "who are we?". Is it really worth it? Almost most of the graced ones had been humbled by the realization that they decided to serve the world. If it is really about serving the world and spreading the word, which is the outcome, should we wait for the question to arise? Why not work on the outcome straight away without even worrying about the search? As noticed in certain lives, spirituality becomes a way of life and at times for some a track never to return. Why people refrain from a step back and return to normal lives? The fear of society and acceptance of failure can often stop you. Why we think it is ...
