London, the way I see - Office break

On just another autumn day, I got out of office during midday to grab some midday munchies from the Sainsbury's next door. After the security doors of office, I reach the lift which made me wait for few mins and was thinking about the strange algorithm this lift is working on when 3 lifts are waiting in reception and the one that is four floors above me the destined for me. I even contemplated the idea of being daring and non-forgiving by taking the stairs. And to blurt out the real me, it didn't take me long in the mix of my mind to think about my family too. Yes, all this in few seconds to couple of minutes.

My eyes were fixed on the red colored lift indicators which showed red and no color intermittently. But this time it was all dim. Call it a miracle, there came the red which I was waiting for all this while. I was more than excited to jump into the lift as though it was my trip to space. Now after this incident I would call it a trip to space where my mind has never been. On my entry, my eyes fell on a this beautiful, attractive smart young lady which was not too shy to give me a puzzled stare back. I felt it was a good time pass and you know about my confidence when it comes to these matters. I kept on watching her with that cute necklace on her neck until the man holding it tight asked, "How's your day mate".
I asked him why is written, "don't feed me on her?". For which I heard the most stunning reply I could get. That man, holding her tight in this lift is blind and she happens to be his guide dog.

Few seconds that I lost in this setback, didn't go as the ones just before entering the lift. This one was quite blank. I started talking to him as normal and in another few seconds the lift reached the reception. The Labrador which she is, has got guide dog tag on her which I didn't notice earlier. She was leading the way as a master all by herself and this blind man was just following her steps. Every small calculated step she took, he could just take a step with same stride. I was waiting to see how they approached the 15 something steps from our office lobby to front gate. When it was time for the steps, she paused for a moment which made him stop too. Then maybe by the way the rope went sliding, she started moving downwards which he could easily follow. I missed to see how the building door was opened but this moment let me think again on how privileged we were.

There is no word other than calling this remarkable guide a wonder dog! Dogs are indeed the best friends of man. You could get anything with money but loyalty doesn't come with it. Time for you guys to think of experiencing having a pet dog at your house and see the difference it makes to your life. Hail wonder dog!

Do we need God?

“If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent Him” - Voltaire The simple answer to who needs God is “everyone”. Why we need God could be different.   As many scholars and philosophers had taught us over last few generations. Religion and belief had played a key role in creating societies and civilisations. Without religion or a common thread of belief system or culture for that matter, we humans cannot be organised and disciplined. I do agree there will be always those outliers who could manage without a system. What happens without a system is well understood assuming most of my readers are living in countries which has an order. Theories on how it all started could be that alien as aliens themselves would feel less alien. Is it a culture that we often label as religion? Is it common practices? Is it a doctrine and set of rules that makes up a religion? Is it God’s words translated by other humans before us that constitutes a religion? It could be all of these and ...

Investing Today versus Yesterday

India is a developing country and the ambition in our youth to have a crore in their bank is also developing in same pace. Wealth of India and Indians is a well-known phenomenon in this world. We were once considered the richest land. Even now we have few wealthy people who can give tough competition to other rich men around the planet. Indians grow up understanding and tagging wealth to gold and property. Most of the current generation had seen a struggling prior generation and/or heard of previous generations working hard to earn wealth. Most of the Indians didn't have housing in earlier generations and the ones who had been the landlords often lending money and renting property to the larger masses. This practice had led to our ancestors often linking richness to having property for rent.  Our rich dad poor dad preaches us to have assets which are earning bucks for us versus sitting idle and shut which links to having rented property. We often overlook the fact that when is buyi...
