Adjustment on the RAILS!

With a heavy heart, we dragged ourselves to see the Golden city of Jaisalmer from Jaipur. Jaipur impressed us and me in particular with brilliant planning and discipline. The taxi drivers often complained to us about the engine abuse by the youth on the two tires between their legs which had grown horrendous in recent times. It was a long overnight Indian Railways organized journey that awaited us. Carrying three young kids of six, four, and three, the seven of us really was ready to call it a day as soon as we boarded the train. Some of us had been waiting to just get into the train to launch on to the cozy berths after a hot sunny day in Jaipur. The railway station was quite near to where we lived in those Civil Lines. The only botheration we had was on how to be together when our seats were as spread as 3, 4, 14, 15, 16, 24, 63, 64. All of us were equally shy to start a conversation pleading for a shift of seats with any fellow passengers too. The art of seat swapping has to b...

Jampacked as it might sound!

A good time to welcome namma metro and start dreaming of a jam free city drives. Mostly it remains a dream in our country whatever we invent. There had been in-numerous mentions of car pooling, go green with cycling and what not in last few years. How do we really figure out what is best for us and the environment? How good is the commute and is that really the best we could do for ourselves? It is really not surprising that we end up cursing and bad mouthing all modes of travel in few years whatever we are to invent or discover. This is partly or vastly because of the traffic we end up facing be in inside a train or on road. I don't mean the vehicles but the people. Whole of the Bangalore metro seems to be jam packed during the office hours and weekends, often making me wonder aren't we capable to add more cars to the train or is it just that we are fond of the sweat smelling commute in a jam packed train? Now if we are to add, how many more cars can we add? Can it be ever e...
Whole India caught fire few weeks back when an unfortunate poor little soul was demolished by some ruthless citizens of India. Whole nation fought for her and wanted to see government taking action, people making changes and to witness something significant. I respect all those who fight for her and all those who truly tried to make a change. With all due respect to the judiciary system of my country, do you really think all these changes or amendments are going to help us in making great strides? Have really tried to look at the root of the issue? Maybe yes, our Facebook friends did a great lot on that front. Thought of sharing my take on the issue called RAPE. This is not an issue that we can just like that bring to rest with few amendments and strict rules. It needs careful investigation before we act. Do we think the issue starts with few guys who roam around jobless?
